I like his recommendation of keeping bags of frozen fruit, ready to use from your freezer. You don’t have to prepare all the ingredients every time you want to make a smoothie. It’s a great time saving tip.
Jamie recommends cutting up and freezing fruit you may have just before it goes bad and you would be forced to discard it.
Jamie likes to include ginger in his smoothies,. and he shows a simple technique for peeling it. He keeps pieces of ginger in each of his frozen fruit bags, ready to use.
And, you can include either fresh fruit or frozen fruit from your food store into your freezer storage bags.
You can also include things like oats or seeds to increase the fiber in your smoothies.
He uses honey as a sweetener. Experts recommend buying honey produced by bees near your location to help reduce allergies by getting some immunization from the pollen in the local honey.
Bananas are a great fruit to keep frozen. Not only can they be used in smoothies, they make wonderful desserts that resemble ice cream.
Jamie also adds liquids like apple juice, lime juice, yogurt and/or milk to his smoothies. If you are avoiding dairy products, you could use plant based milk.
