This original recipe resembles the typical American diet statistics. With total Fat = 26 grams or 36% of total calories, its fat content is too high to conform to the nutrition guidelines recommended by our Nutrition and Medical Experts. This recipe was modified by replacing the steak with a soy protein meat substitute – in this case Boca Burger. The canola oil and butter was replaced with vegetable broth for sauteeing. The flour was eliminated. And the beef broth was replaced with vegetable broth.
These modifications reduced the fat content from 26 grams to 5.9 grams, a very substantial reduction, which brings this recipe into the healthy diet nutrition diet guidelines recommended by our Nutrition and Medical Experts.
