Do you need to make special sushi rice to make sushi rolls? Not necessarily. In this video, Leigh-Chantelle of Viva la Vegan shows how to make sushi rolls, or probably better called “nori rolls” with quinoa and brown rice instead of typical sushi rice.
She uses different kinds of fillings, and suggests different dipping sauces than simply using traditional soy sauce. Her technique is interesting and simple. And, quinoa and brown rice are healthier grains than white rice.
Her techniques should give us lots of ideas for experimenting with healthy and delicious “nori rolls”.
