Reversal Diet Recipes – a look at the numbers …

Dr Ornish’s Reversal Diet contains about 10% of the calories in fat, and has been proven to reverse disease. The recipes made with his “Group 1” food ingredients comply with Dr Ornish’s Reversal Diet guidelines.

Many people resist preparing and eating these healthy recipes because they think they are bland, boring, or “taste like cardboard”. But, this is not true. These typical Reversal Diet recipes are appetizing and delicious even though they have a very low fat content. And, these are the type of recipes that have been demonstrated to reverse chronic diseases like obesity and diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.

Let’s look at the nutrition analysis of some of these recipes, showing the Fat listed as a percentage as well as the actual amount of Total Fat and Saturated Fat shown in grams. Notice that the percentage shown for the Fat content can vary widely, particularly if the total calories is very small. But, the Fat content in grams is consistently low. And the Saturated Fat content is almost non-existent.

In future posts, we’ll actually cook these and similar healthy recipes, showing pictures of them and include preparation tips and techniques.
